“The Nice Guy”, my latest novel (available on Kindle) is told in first person. This may be the first clue that the hero’s heroes are Louis L’Amour characters (see previous blogs).
One of the great things about first person is that it is wonderfully confining. As in real life, you only know what other characters are doing or thinking when you interact with them or they tell you. Something big may be happening on the other side of town that will later impact the protagonist, but you–the reader–don’t know about it until it impacts him.
Through this first person telling, I have tried to let the reader get to know the main character better than we usually would. As with a real person, not everything Bat Garrett says about himself may be correct, but if you take it with the whole, you’ll learn who he really is. And I think you’ll find him a very interesting character.
I like the helpful info you provide in your articles. I will bookmark your weblog and check again here frequently. I am quite certain I’ll learn many new stuff right here! Good luck for the next!
